FAQ: Commercial two-way radio installers connect the DC power to the UHF radio direct from the car battery. Why ?

Answer: Because tapping into the car's wiring loom or ignition key switch or fuse box can cause problems. Often those points of DC supply are not adequately earthed at the negative supply lead and also the positive supply lead can have switching transients ie noise spikes instead of being clean 12 volts DC. In addition you could be coupling some rf from the UHF CB transmitter back into the wiring loom that can get into the car electronics. The best way to install is to run the DC supply for the two-way radio direct from the car battery. The battery acts like a big capacitor, the DC is clean and so the problems are overcome.

Our DC supply cables are 5 metres long, crimped and soldered at the fuses and battery terminals to ensure good mechanical strength and good electrical connection.

Do your install professionally and have a trouble free radio.

Includes two standard 2A 3AG fuses. These are commercial two-way install fuse holders that wrap around the fuse and make a very tight connection with the fuse. We don't use spring loaded fuse holders, they are not tight enough to make a good connection. The cable has a sheath as well, giving double insulation protection for automotive applications and is rated at 10 Amps. You will save yourself a lot of time using one of these ready made cables. At this price it is not worth making your own. Simply run it through the firewall and connect it to the radio with the terminal block, then connect it to the battery.

TX4400 UHF TransceiverThe TX4400 transceiver is Australian designed and built and is one of the most advanced UHF Citizen Band radios available.

Mobile / E-DIN Size UHF CB Radio

The UH500SX UHF Unit is in a class of its own replacing the number 1 selling model – the UH088sx. Uniden’s reliability and experience in UHF makes this unit ideal for the professional who needs to keep in touch with the outside world. The UH500SX-RM offers the finest components, engineering and styling, just what you would expect from Uniden.

The UH500SX has an extra 40 user programmable RX channels available making listening to your favourite frequencies (450 to 512MHz in 12.5Hz steps) easier. With a Rear MIC Jack located at the back panel for discrete connection of the standard or remote LCD speaker microphone.

The UH500SX is also equipped with DCS (Digital Coded Squelch) allowing you to choose from 104 alternative digital codes that can be sent with your transmission. The digital code is recognised by the compatible receivers enabling them to receive or block unwanted conversations. For additional conversation privacy the UH500SX-RM also has CTCSS Interference Eliminator allowing you to block out unwanted conversations. It also has Range Extender (Duplex) Capability giving you long range depending on the location of local repeater stations. The keypad and LCD display is backlit orange for extra easy viewing at night or in low light situations.

The UH015 brings together both an integrated 40-channel UHF CB radio and a 60-channel scanner in the one unit.

The UH015sx is able to scan over 8500 plus receivable channels making it ideal for truck drivers, 4WD Drivers and for those persons that need it for the dual function of a UHF Transceiver and Scanner in one. The UH015sx also has a Built-in SELCALL Function allowing the user to send a series of tones that equate to a 5/6 digit number (like a telephone number) to selectively call a similarly equipped radio.

It is also VOX Hands Free Capable allowing you to operate the UH015sx with hands free operation with an optional headset microphone available. The UH015sx is the perfect solution and tool for UHF Mobile communication.
